SAM MARTIN
THE MUSICIAN | STRING BASS | GUITARIST SINGER | PRODUCER | TECHNICIAN
Sam Martin grew up in the Central West of NSW, Australia. Raised in the dance halls and bars of Bathurst he developed a love for entertainment and community.

Sam studied piano, clarinet and accordion as boy and moved on to string bass in his late teens. He was the young entrepreneur behind a popular soul rhythm and blues outfit in his final years of high school and went on to study jazz the Australian National University.
​
Sam has worked as a sideman in the country, bluegrass, jazz and folk music circuit. His experience in these styles greatly influenced his musicality and understanding of the music industry.
Since 2006, Sam has worked as a bass player, singer and actor in the renown theatre and festival ensemble Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen.

Sam Martin has worked in the production of theatre and performance for 20 years. Since 2007 Sam has worked as production manager for Mikelangelo and The Black Sea Gentlemen, as a freelance sound engineer and is currently the producer of many local events.
Sam resides in Candelo on the South Coast of NSW. He continues to perform locally and nationally with acclaimed performing artists and musicians.


He is also a dad with a growing family, a part time teaching job, monthly market stall business and the creator of Sam's Caravan a mobile studio and event production house that delivers live music events, arts projects and festivals for regional audiences in NSW.
